What sport do you play?

HOW THIS WORKS

IF YOU CLICK AROUND you will find a free, interactive and easy to use Web site that hosts standings for high school and other amateur sports. But not every sport in every league is listed. With over 17,000 high schools in the United States alone, that would be quite some task.

AS YOU MIGHT EXPECT, the results of basketball games, wrestling matches, lacrosse games and swim meets don't just get here by magic. We enlist the help of volunteer scorekeepers. Over the last few seasons our scorekeepers have come from the ranks of coaches, players, athletic directors, newspaper reporters, team moms, parents, boosters, siblings of players, officials and plain ole folk who closely follow what happens in their communities. In one case a real estate agent tracked all the sports in his community and linked the standings to his own Web site. Several teachers have used ScoreCentral as a class project in their technology classes -- students collect and input scores. Many leagues and districts use it as their official reporting site. It's a busy place.

THERE IS NO CATCH. It's free. And each standings page is directly accessible with a Web address (URL) that can be linked on school, league, club, district or state athletic association Web pages. We only ask that scorekeepers are diligent in keeping standings for their sport and league as accurate as possible.

There is a demo standings page and a demo scorekeeping module. Click around. Send us your questions and comments. We would like to know what you think of ScoreCentral.
